"A word after a word after a word is power." —Margaret Atwood
Elizabeth Oliver wrote her first story in fourth grade, about a girl named Heather who lived in a cloud. She is now an editor with twenty years of experience and has worked with writers of all levels. Her favorite part of the job is working with other writers, and her work background includes co-founding and editing The Rambler, a national literary magazine, and several years of book editing.
Her experience include editing novels, short stories, and flash fiction as well as personal essays, memoirs, and general nonfiction. In addition to working with independent writers, her clients include several editorial companies. Her writing has appeared in publications including Shenandoah, SmokeLong Quarterly, and the anthology Long Story Short.
Elizabeth grew up on the coast of North Carolina. She earned a BA in journalism from UNC-Chapel Hill and an MFA in creative writing and literature from Emerson College. She enjoys horseback riding, yoga, and, of course, reading and talking about books. A cup of coffee is always nice, too. If she could get her cat to ride around in a backpack, that would be a bonus.
